Terms and Conditions
SOMETHING RELOVED
Welcome to Something ReLoved! These Terms and Conditions outline the agreement between you (the "Client") and Something ReLoved ("we," "us," or "our") for the bespoke transformation, upcycling, repair, or revamping of garments, including wedding dresses. By engaging our services, you agree to the following terms:
1. Assessment of Garment
1.1 The Client agrees to provide the garment in its current condition for inspection prior to any work commencing.
1.2 The garment must be professionally cleaned before being brought to us. Garments that are not cleaned may be refused or subject to additional charges for cleaning.
1.3 We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, stains, or fabric degradation. These will be documented during the initial consultation and noted for the Client’s reference.
1.4 During the transformation process, damage or stains that were not visible during the initial inspection may become apparent. If such issues impact the remake, we will halt the process to document and inform the Client, allowing them to decide how to proceed.
1.5 The Client must notify us of any prior alterations made to the garment. Previous alterations may affect the structural integrity of the garment and impact our ability to make further modifications. We are not responsible for any complications arising from prior alterations.
2. Design Agreement
2.1 A bespoke design proposal will be created based on the Client’s preferences and our expertise. The Client must provide written approval before any work begins.
2.2 Once the design is approved and the cutting or alteration process begins, no changes can be made.
3. Bespoke Creation, Upcycling, and Repairs
3.1 Due to the custom nature of our service, we cannot guarantee that the finished product will exactly match the Client’s vision. Bespoke designs involve subjective interpretation and adjustments.
3.2 Alterations or adjustments requested post-completion will incur additional charges.
3.3 We cannot guarantee that any remaining parts of the original garment will be in a usable condition after the transformation process.
3.4 If the Client chooses to cancel the service at any point after work has commenced, we are not responsible for making any further changes. The Client acknowledges that we are under no obligation to make the garment into a functional garment if cancellation occurs.
3.5 When repairing or revamping a garment, we will take every precaution, but we cannot guarantee longevity due to the age or prior condition of the fabric and structure.
3.6 Some fabrics may not be suitable for certain types of alterations or upcycling. We cannot guarantee results if the original fabric is fragile or unsuitable for the requested changes.
3.7 If the Client provides additional fabric, trims, or embellishments for the transformation, we are not responsible for their quality, durability, or how they integrate with the original garment.
4. Right to Refuse Services
4.1 We reserve the right to refuse any job that we deem unsuitable for upcycling, repair, or transformation due to fabric condition, structural integrity, or design limitations.
4.2 We do not provide dyeing services, and we are not responsible for any attempts made by the Client to alter the colour of the garment before or after our services.
5. Fabric and Structural Integrity
5.1 We are not liable for the quality or durability of the original fabric, lace, beading, or other materials provided by the Client.
5.2 While we take every care to ensure the structural integrity of fastenings (e.g., zips, buttons, hooks), we cannot guarantee their longevity due to the age or condition of the original materials.
6. Measurements and Fit
6.1 The Client must provide accurate measurements at the time of consultation. Any significant weight or measurement changes post-consultation may result in the final piece not fitting as intended.
6.2 Adjustments due to weight changes or other factors post-completion will be treated as additional alterations and charged accordingly.
7. Payment Terms
7.1 A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total service cost is required to secure a booking in our diary.
7.2 The remaining balance, including any additional charges for alterations requested during the process, must be paid in full before the final product is released to the Client.
7.3 If the Client fails to make the final payment within 30 days of notification that the garment is ready for collection, the garment will be considered abandoned. In such cases, we reserve the right to repurpose, donate, or dispose of the garment at our discretion, and no refund will be issued.
7.4 We will make reasonable attempts to contact the Client regarding overdue payments or uncollected garments, but responsibility for timely payment and collection lies with the Client.
8. Cancellation Policy
8.1 If the Client cancels before work has begun, the 50% deposit remains non-refundable.
8.2 If the Client cancels after work has commenced, they will not be entitled to a refund, and we are not responsible for making any further alterations or adjustments to the garment.
8.3 If unforeseen circumstances prevent us from completing the work, we will issue a partial refund based on the work completed up to that point.
9. Non-Refundable Service
9.1 Once the transformation process begins (cutting, sewing, or alterations), the service is non-refundable. This includes cases where the Client changes their mind.
10. Care Instructions
10.1 The final product will be accompanied by care instructions. We are not responsible for damage resulting from improper care or handling by the Client post-delivery.
11. Liability
11.1 While we take every precaution to handle garments with care, we are not liable for:
Pre-existing issues with the garment.
Structural or material failures due to the age or condition of the original fabric.
Variations in the appearance of the final product due to material limitations.
11.2 In the unlikely event of an error on our part, our liability is limited to correcting the error or refunding the cost of the service, at our discretion.
12. Client’s Acknowledgment
12.1 By engaging our services, the Client acknowledges that the transformation process is irreversible and that the original garment cannot be restored.
12.2 The Client confirms that they have read and understood these Terms and Conditions before proceeding.
13. Once Removed from Our Possession
13.1 Once the final garment is collected or otherwise removed from our possession, the Client is deemed to have accepted the finished piece. Any further alterations requested will incur additional fees.
14. Christening Gowns – Safety Disclaimer
Our Christening gowns are made using reclaimed fabrics and therefore classed as ‘Second-Hand’. As such, we are not able to guarantee the exact fibre content or flammability rating of each garment. These items do not meet the UK flammability standards required for children’s sleepwear and are not intended for use as sleepwear.
Keep away from fire and naked flames.
While we take every reasonable precaution during the making process - such as avoiding small detachable parts, loose embellishments, or structural risks - children must be supervised by an adult at all times while wearing gowns.
These garments are intended for occasional or ceremonial wear only. They are not toys, nor are they designed for prolonged, unsupervised use. By purchasing one of our gowns, you acknowledge the inherent limitations of using second-hand materials and agree that Meg J Gardner is not liable for any injury, accident, or damage arising from misuse, lack of supervision, or failure to follow safety advice.
Care Instructions:
Due to the use of reclaimed fabrics, we advise referring to the original care label on the garment for washing and maintenance guidance. Please note that modern cleaning processes may not be suitable for all vintage materials, and improper care may affect the condition and safety of the gown.
If you have any concerns about fabric sensitivity, allergies, or appropriate usage, please contact us before making your purchase.
15. Photography & Marketing
15.1 We may document garments during the transformation process for our portfolio, website, or social media.
15.2 No personally identifiable information will be shared without your explicit consent. If you prefer your garment not be photographed or used for marketing purposes, please notify us in writing at the start of the project.
16. Storage & Collection
16.1 Garments must be collected within 14 days of completion unless otherwise agreed in writing.
16.2 We reserve the right to charge a storage fee of £15 per day after the 14-day window.
16.3 If the garment is not collected within 90 days, it will be considered abandoned and may be repurposed, donated, or disposed of at our discretion.
17. General
17.1 These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
17.2 We reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be communicated to the Client in advance.
